Hillcrest Ministry
We, at Bethel Baptist Church,
are blessed to be part of the Hillcrest Ministry by sponsoring
an apartment.
Hillcrest was founded in 1976,
housing 3 families. Throughout the years, Hillcrest has been
fortunate enough to be supported by the caring individuals and
organizations in the Kansas City Area. This aid and generosity
has enabled Hillcrest to expand numerous times, with the
capacity to serve over 70 families per year, with housing sites
in Clay, Eastern Jackson, Platte and Wyandotte Counties.
By providing a strict, tough-love program, Hillcrest has
realized its mission of moving families from homelessness to
self-sufficiency. Resident families are offered 90 days of rent
& utility free housing, & are required to secure full-time
employment & attend weekly classes in case management,
budgeting, nutrition, & life-skills. Many have undertaken the
task of changing their lives; we strive to help them to do so,
in a loving, caring environment, so they can better the lives of
their children and themselves. |
