STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, and infallible Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith and doctrine.  The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000.  The church body dedicates itself to the building of the kingdom of God through worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism and missions.  The ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

As the church body, we believe in the Triune God; (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit).  There is no salvation apart from the personal faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.  A person’s salvation experience is a change of heart brought about by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God.  Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and the commitment of the entire person to Him as the Lord of one’s life.

We agree, therefore, through the power of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love and to strive for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.  Each member should through prayer, service, comfort and sacrifice seek unity with each other in the bond of peace, always ready to forgive as Christ has forgiven us.

We further agree to seek the salvation of our family, friends, and others.  We agree to cheerfully and regularly contribute to the ministry and expenses of the church and the mission of spreading the gospel to every nation.

We believe that God has ordained the family as the fundamental institution of human society.  We agree to maintain both personal and family devotions; to educate our children in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and to work for the protection and preservation of the family.

To live in a manner worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ, remembering always that our lives are a testimony of Him.  We dedicate ourselves to abstain from any improper and immoral behavior which would bring reproach to the Lord and this church body.  Every Christian should actively oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, alcoholism, vice and all forms of sexual immorality; including adultery, homosexuality, child molestation and pornography.

We agree that when circumstances arise that prevent fellowship with this church, we will, as soon as possible, unite with another body of believers, where we can worship our Lord and serve in His Kingdom.
