What's Happening at Bethel?

Calendar  Bulletin

Men Ministry

Our first event is a retreat to "God's Mountain", a camp located in the bluffs south of St. Joseph, Missouri.

The event will take place, Friday night, May 16, 2008.  Please contact Mr. Jim Lightner at the church.

For more information about the camp visit   www.godsmountainministries.org

Martha’s Clothes Closet

Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., during the week it will be by appointment only.

"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me," Matthew 25:40

The Mission Possible class is setting up Martha's Clothes Closet to provide clothing assistance to our church family and the surrounding community. We believe it is part of our mission to meet the needs of those around us-no questions asked. If you are in need of assistance, or would like to donate clothing to Martha's Clothes Closet, please call Wendi Curtis at (816)795-8488. We are especially in need of men's clothing and clothes hangers at this time, but all donations are welcome.

We have plenty of men’s clothes now but need baby clothes, especially baby boys clothes.

HILLCREST MINISTRIES

Many thanks to those who donated items needed for the apartment we sponsor at Hillcrest.   We are still in need of a Carafe for a "Toastmaster" coffee maker or possibly a new coffee maker. If you have any questions, please see Alfreda Price.

Preschool Enrollment for 2008·2009 School Year

There are 3 classes: 2's & 3's, 3's & 4's; and PreK. See Linda Miley, our Preschool Director for more details.

Mission trip to Brno, Czech Republic:
Please pray for Katie Steele as she prepares to go to Brno, Czech Republic on a mission trip with the International Mission Board.  She will leave June 20th and return September1st.  She will be working in a team of other missionaries including a career missionary that lives there, Journeyman like what Kent was in Whales and other short term missionaries.

The Missions committee, MOMs, is planning a mission trip to New Orleans through "Operation Noah Rebuild," a project of the North American Mission Board - June 21st_ 28th, 2008. This will be for adults over the age of 18 years only. More details will follow.
Statement from "Noah Rebuild" -
"Restoring the houses and lives of those affected by Hurrican Katrina will be accomplished only through the willingness of volunteers like you and your team. Prayerfully consider the work that God would lead you to do in New Orleans. Then prepare your group for hard work, helping those in need, sharing the love of Christ, and for one of the most rewarding experiences of your lives. We look forward to serving with you in New Orleans."
If you are interested in being a part of this trip, please see someone on the MOMs committee or come to their next meeting on Thursday, February 21st at 6:30 p.m.
